About Flour & Filament

Every Great Idea Starts With a Problem

Before Flour & Filament, there was The Sweet Sistas.

The Sweet Sistas began as my dream of building something meaningful with my daughters. The name was inspired by my oldest daughter and the little sister I was expecting during the journey that led to Flour & Filament. What started as a small sweets business quickly became so much more than selling treats—it became a way to create memories, build a legacy, and show my girls that big dreams can start small.

As I began attending local markets, I poured my heart into creating beautiful cakesicles and displays that would catch people's attention. But one hot outdoor market changed everything.

My cakesicles were melting.

I found myself constantly putting my display treats back into the cooler, leaving empty stands behind. I remember thinking, There has to be a better way.

So I went home determined to solve the problem.

That weekend, I designed and printed my very first faux cakesicle display.

It wasn't created to start another business. It was created because I needed a practical solution for my own market setup.

When I shared it on social media, something incredible happened.

The video took off.

Treat makers, bakers, and market vendors from all over started asking the same questions:

"Where did you get that?"

"Can I buy one?"

"Do you sell these?"

That's when I realized I wasn't the only baker facing this challenge.

What started as one solution for one market day had the potential to help thousands of bakers display their work more professionally without worrying about melted products, wasted inventory, or constantly replacing display pieces.

And just like that...

Flour & Filament was born.

Today, every product I design begins the same way my very first display did—with a real problem faced by real bakers.

Whether it's a display that saves time, a cutter that makes decorating easier, or a tool that helps create a more professional market setup, my goal is simple: to create products that make running a baking business just a little easier.

Seeing so many people embrace an idea that started because of one frustrating day at a market has been both humbling and inspiring. Every order reminds me that innovation doesn't always come from a big company or a fancy design studio—sometimes it comes from a baker who simply refused to accept, "That's just the way it is."

This is only the beginning, and I couldn't be more excited to see where Flour & Filament goes from here.

Thank you for being part of the journey.
